Mountain Bike Challenge in Poland - Day 6
Finally it was the last day of the Mountain Bike Challenge began. To the enormous aching limbs had almost become accustomed. At least have the energy reserves with a double dinner (just like every night) recharged. Less the sporting energy budget, but the more the motivation aspect was the excellent Wiener Schnitzel in the Czech Accommodation beneficial.
Even the walkout was the four Oberbergern difficult. They said so again, "you torture" and spent the last 75 km and a height of 2,000 meters. Like every morning at 9 clock were both RSF team at the start of the day. Item 10 clock was then the start and it went from starting block 3 on the first few miles back uphill route. The two teams were beginning to RSF in a sporty pace close to each other. After prolonged fast forest roads through the Czech forests it came to the first downhill, which required for the high density field quite a bit maneuver skills. Here Mark had a team from the foot of the trail, then an Italian sports colleagues, the unsafe driving style shone through his escape. Off the racing line, he was then a very high sales hit and went down. The Italians had taken but not much better and went along with some other bikers and also to the ground.
went without any significant wear of the race but continued directly into a steep Beraufpassage, the equalized the field considerably. Followed by a seemingly endless end, technically demanding trial along the Polish-Czech border was hardly any change in placement. Only after some difficult passages, Downhill Team 1 could back a little of 2 RSF team to settle. Fast forest roads helped to a relatively uniform race with a high average speed, if this was possible after 5 stages. RSF Both teams were able to complete the remaining stage without any significant incidents. Even the part thereof under Michael held in conjunction with the provisionally attached cable ties. Also Volkers Scar and tires held out. could
After the field had sorted according to the performance classes and we met again the day before, both well-known teams in the RSF team to make some good pitches. On the last two climbs, it was still a team together with a strong international team overtake even the leading Damenduo. In a furious final sprint won two more seats are well made, although probably no more effect had on the overall placement.
Team 2 was able to make over the last mile asphalt departure also a few places by clever drafting ride and good Übesetzungsverhältnisse. This showed again that even a little bit of this tactic is successful.
Finally, both teams ended with no injuries and very happy the Mountain Challenge adventure through Poland and the Czech Republic. Now the final Piwo (beer) and the sausage was deserved. For the last time it was still pitching for the bikewash.
Since the last destination Kudowa but a few miles from the original start in Duszniki away and there was also the last night was booked, turned still the question of how the last few miles were overcome. From friendly source it was called then, it had to be covered for 5 km downhill. The 4 RSF'ler then decided the route to the "roll-out to take advantage. The task turned out to be a 17 km long and blessed with many meters out EU-funded mountain road that not just was time for relief.
Along the way you came then to a group of Belgian bikers with the same goal. Since these were isolated by their own support vehicle traffic from the rest decided to go along the uphill RSF'ler the high speed and then all reached soon completely exhausted, the last overnight stop. Now the wheels were able to such leave shall be final. The material had rendered satisfactory service in this high stress. Many of the participants did not fare so well. So many total failures (frame breaks, etc.) were recorded. And physical failures forced many teams to the task. Ca. 50 of the 200 competing teams could not finish the bike challenge. Fortunately, one of the first steps on the difficult toppled Polish driver was on his feet again. The greatly swollen and patched-face spoke volumes.
In summary, it can be said that this was for the two teams in the RSF a borderline experience in wide variety of ways. However, it has no regrets on this adventure have experienced and been through too. Now you can return to the competitive challenges of the current season pay in local clubs.
The RSF also thanked Chief Mining expressly for its support of the participating sponsors. Power companies including in particular the Foot, Feet Control, the company Schwalbe, cycling and nail Diviice.

Even Michael had this hairpin his problems. You had to slow down by about 40-50 km / h to nearly 0. Michael managed this is likewise not entirely an alternative route had to look straight ahead. Volker focused on today's stage to be more physical defects and had to be so well about a kilometer from the finish abrupt halt to a take-off to escape into the ditch. Initially, but first a few formalities. Through the border crossings in the morning we had initially auditioned for passport control at the local border guards. After this was completed, it went after plenty of magnesium-rich foods in the starting lineup. As newcomers stay, unfortunately, only the third Starting block. This gave us the opportunity, however, the field auzuräumen from behind. After a short adjustment period and a lot of wrangling at the start, we went even to the first mountain passage that RSF was able to use a mountain top to a little break away from the companion. The road surface easily seduced at an inflated rate, which retaliated after the first 60 km. Mark and Michael had to do with the first seizures and both teams lost valuable time. With much force could still overcome the 80 km and a height of 2,000 meters to be completed in good time. Team 1 is presented in order for the 80th Place and Team 2 for the 121st

Nevertheless, brandishing all 4 RSF bikers on the bike again to look for an even more challenging stage in their eyes. 70 km with 2200 meters were scheduled for that day. It had to be overcome while only two mountains, but it had in itself. Both times had to be overcome more than 700 vertical meters, which led to endless permanent increases. RSF-kilometer 40 to both teams stayed close together, as the strains from the previous day had to digest for now. With this moderate pace was then a team in a position to gradually be discontinued on the second mountain. Here it was called but then again my teeth to bite, but eventually it ran until the end but rather round. A heavy fall on the last run was, however, the two bikers occasion of the first team out and take a kick to be careful. Covered in blood was one of the Kontrhenten motionless and unconscious on the floor. Recovery position and initial rescue operations were initiated. Hopefully it's the poor guy already feeling better.

Ruhr Bike Festival 2007
in time by 14 clock has started the marathon this year's Bike Festival Ruhr in Wetter an der Ruhr. Torsten, who represented the RSF that day due to the upcoming MTB Challenge in Poland alone, started "assault towers" with his Vitalij supporters - of his first marathon went - from the back rows.
was planned as the Kellerwald marathon to start slowly and then do well the first places to be able to pitch. But this plan did not, for even the smallest gradients were already at the start of the race is very narrow, there was a wait, as many bikers said they would push. To drive past there was no chance. Accordingly, further irritated it went well for Tom, until the knee went for a few kilometers of easy problems. For about two miles he had to take out some pace, it was normal to go further. The technically and physically demanding track demanded a lot from the bikers, for there was the high number of trails only a few sections where you could let loose roll. Just before the second aid station at 32 km Torsten and Vitalij drove back a bit in common, but the big rush to the aid station we lost again.
fresh strengthened Torsten could use its conditional benefits, because shortly before the end it went to 2.5 km about 200hm at a time up the hill. Here and on the following remaining pitches he could make up some places. After 03:28 hours Torsten reached the target and thus the 48th Place in class "license Men / Senior I" and the 496th in the Overall rank. Vitaly came to 3:34 in the target and thus as 521st in the overall standings.
